Barnes method of Myofascial Release, Jones Strain Counterstrain, and vibration technology. Your treatment will always be 1 on 1 with a doctor of physical therapy for the entire session and customized to your unique needs and goals.
Myofascial Release
Connective tissue dysfunction is often a cause or contributing factor in issues such as chronic pain, neck pain, back pain, TMJ dysfunction, postural imbalances, plantar fasciitis, and fibromyalgia.
Myofascial release is a technique used by clinicians who have been trained to recognize and treat connective tissue dysfunction. Tremendous recent breakthroughs in connective tissue research have demonstrated that connective tissue influences the nervous and muscular systems much more profoundly than has been previously believed.
The John Barnes approach to myofascial release is a gentle hands-on technique that facilitates a stretch into restricted soft-tissue utilizing low grade sustained pressure.
Unlike other forms of massage, the John Barnes approach to myofascial release treatment addresses the elastic component of connective tissue producing a restoration of appropriate length and space to compressed structures. This allows the neuromuscular components of the system to function within optimal ranges and produces relief from pain or stiffness.
Stain Counterstrain
Strain Counterstrain is a powerful tool used by a select number of clinicians trained by the Jones Institute. Through gently moving joints into positions of ease for the neuromuscular system, the system is rebalanced, resulting in relief of pain and muscle spasms. This technique is especially effective for whiplash injuries, chronic pain conditions, muscle spasms, TMJ dysfunction, and headaches.
Therapeutic Exercise
In most cases, therapeutic exercise will be an important component of your recovery process. All exercise programs are individually tailored to your needs and goals and personally supervised by Dr. Nicole Anderson, physical therapist.
