The myofascial system is made up of muscle (from the root "myo"), and fascia (which is also called connective tissue). Many people focus on the muscle part of the myofascial system, but are unaware of the profound influence of connective tissue on the system. Recent developments in technology have allowed connective tissue to be viewed inside a living human body during surgery. The two video excerpts below are from DVD's produced by the French surgeon JC Guimberteau, MD. Connective tissue in these videos is magnified 25X.
